lg-ev2 missing pictures

i have an lg-ev2 which runs a slide show as a screensaver.  i recently backed up all my pictures onto my desktop & noticed that my slideshow pics were missing.  i've checked both the phone's & card's memory, but they're not there.  the pics were originally taken with this phone. verizon hasn't been any help either.  anyone have any ideas?  i would greatly appreciate any advice to retrieve the pics, as they're quite special to me.  thanks in advance, all!

Does the slideshow still function correctly?  If so, there may be a folder on the phone's internal memory that holds the slideshow pics.

Other than that, I'm not sure where else the pics would be.
