Message from one phone on plan w/ four phones shows up on phone not sent to.

For a couple of months, when a message sent from phone 1 (of 4 on our plan) to phone 2, it is also sent to phone 3.  When phone 2 responds to phone 1, it is also sent to phone 2.  We can not figure out what was changed or how to stop this from happening.  Any suggestions?

Are these phones all iphones? Are they using the same Apple ID for the iMessages? You should change the imessage to have a unique identifier for each phone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

They are all iPhones, 4s.  Went to the local Verizon store, person there turned off iMessage.  That seemed to solve the problem.  Suggested we have separate iTunes accounts. Is that the same as separate iMessage identifiers?   Hopefully, one of these will solve problem.

Thanks for your help.
