No Service in my area

I woke up this morning and my Droid had no service in my town.

I removed the battary and rebooted the phone. I then went to the store and it seems Verizon is out in my whole town.

Is there a way to check status or find out what is going on in my area?

it's too bad I do not have a land line so I'm unable to call Verizon and let them know that my service is out :smileyhappy:

I dug around and could not find the proper area to post this so I'm posting it here.

If service is out in your whole town, they are well aware of it and will get it restored ASAP.

Hello, I am in Gloucester, Va and am not getting any service on my Verizon Ally phone. This has been going on for about an hour. It's not like I can call Verizon and check to see what's happening. Can you please help ASAP?

What can we do? My cell is my only phone. Do you have a landline or do you think Verizon is already workign on this issue?

There's maintenance and acts of God (and humans). Maintenance will happen for short intervals at the least incovenient time. (Although maybe they're putting up LTE there, LOL). Storms of course are unpredictable and a tower disabled by a traffic accident (if that could occur) are possible. Then Verizon might rely on other networks that have their own problem. That is a long time to be out so it must have been major.
