email and viruses

Ok I made the cardinal sin of clicking a link from a friend. The link to me to a normal looking site but when I went to nav out it wouldn't let me. I had to turn off the droid and all seems normal... but Can something unseen be happening? such as highjacking me contacts? a trojan?

From what I have understood of Android security protocols that a unrooted device usually are pretty secure because access to the root files (OS) are restricted from being modified but hackers can still try to access information by having you install a unverified apps *Not fro Market) on the device that may be granted access to personal information during the install process. But I am under the understanding that a rooted device has a better chance of being attacked externally in a more destructive manner..

 

Are you running any anti virus apps, if not give Lookout a try from the market (ITS FREE) and seems to be a very functional app but I do have to admit that there hasn't been a large number of attacks reported on Android at this time so it makes it a little hard to verify the level of true protection that this provided.  But my thought is better safe than sorry..
