Missing text message photos

I have a Motorola Moto Z phone with Verizon Messaging+. Recently I have noticed that photos disappear from my incoming text message after i initially view them in the message. Today I received a text with pictures. the text had a download button which I downloaded from. i viewed the pictures then later in the day they were gone. Can anyone tell me where they went? i have found no setting on the phone that would cause me to lose them.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Have you checked the Verizon Cloud application to ensure those texts and pictures were not downloaded already?

Yeah mine are disappearing too. NOT GOOD. And Verizon is well aware of it. I have the same Droid Turbo 2 phone.

I have a Droid Turbo that is doing the same thing. They do not disappearing from every sender, but always disappear from the same sender. I have also wondered if, somehow, they disappear if the sender deletes them from their test.

Let's figure this out, so you can enjoy the pictures that are sent to you. If you use the regular text messaging app, are you able to see the photos? While in Messages+, do you have a separate tab at the top for Photos where you can view these pictures? With a few more details, I am sure we can figure out what's causing this.

This issue started about a month ago for me on Droid Turbo and Droid Turbo 2. I get a text with a photo and if I power my phone off for the evening, when I power up the next morning the text is there but no photo.

I went to the Verizon store and the said they have never heard this happening and have no clue.

That is definitely odd and we want to ensure that your phone is working as it should. What messaging application are you using? Does this happen with specific contacts or all?

Attention Verizon associates, this problem is big. Judging by all the contributors, it's a widespread problem. All our pics disappear that were sent to us in Messenger+. Tell the engineers: there's a bug!

This is so annoying, I'm throwing my new Moto in the trash, gonna buy me a iPhone.

I as well am having this same issue, using a Moto Z Play. Pictures I send and receive from one of my contacts, who also uses +Message, disappear from just the text message and are not listed under the photos/videos tab for our message history on the +Message app. If it is a picture I send, or a picture they send to me and I save them, they do remain in my phones gallery, but they disappear from +Message app. I also tried locking the pictures, in which they still disappeared. I have substantial amount of memory space on my phone, so memory should, by all means, not be a problem. With all of the replies here, and the possible many other people having this issue that aren't savvy to internet forum posting, this problem does sound like its not localized to a few dozen people. I'll be going to my closest Verizon store to see what they say and to also mention that many others are having this problem.

I have the same problem with my Moto Z Play 2 and all the people with iPhones are the ones who's pictures are deleted within 24-36 hours but all Android messages aren't deleted. If that isn't a big clue to fix the communication between the different phones, I don't know what is?! Please check the systems compatibility. Fix this!

Both my husband and I have Moto Z Force phones and photos that he's texted to me using Messages+ are disappearing. So it's not just from iPhones.

LYNBAC33, I'm alarmed to hear that you are experiencing issues with your picture messages disappearing. Let's get this resolved, so you can be confident that your information is not being lost. Please go to the Play Store, and search for the Messages+ app. Uninstall and reinstall the application, and power the phone off and back on. Once this is done, please try again and see if the pictures go back to normal and stay loaded on the device.

I wasn't able to uninstall the Message + app as instructed by Verizon Customer Service but I did uninstall all the updates and then restarted my phone and it seemed to take care of the issue.

I have a Moto E4 and well, here it is 2 years later. Just came across this thread and all the posts I've read are happening to me. It appears my pictures and sometimes the thread itself including the text disappears. Sometimes the text remains but just the pictures disappear. It is not exclusive to any one user. Please advise any new advice since this thread was created. Thanks for your time.
