Hello. Has anyone tried any of the cases for the Kin Two like the Body Glove? I'm pretty notorious for dropping my phone. I can't imagine a case wouldn't interfere with the sliding qwerty keyboard but wondered if anyone has tried a case.
Thanks.

I am wondering the same thing...there are several cheap cases on Amazon but no reviews...can I still use the keyboard with those cases?
I got a case off of ebay for $8 and it works just fine, it also came with a car charger
I purchased the hard cases off Amazon and they work fine. I got the purple and the hot pink. They feel slighlty like rubber. It does not interfere with the sliding of the phone at all.
Thanks. Do the cases for the Kin Two's fit the Kin Two M's perfectly? Did they bulk it up a lot ? Which case did you buy on Amazon?
Thanks, Pam

I think it should work with TWOm since the difference of TWO and TWOm is only sw.
Could you give us the link of the case you bought? Is it the snap-on hard cover hard case?
Hello!
I am also planning on getting a case that was designed for the Kin Two, to be
used for my Kin Twom. I wanted to see if the case actually fit your twom.
Ebay has it cheap for $4.95 with free shipping.
Thanks!

I think it's cheaper in Amazon, less than $4 with shipping...just don't know which one I should pick...
I just received my new Kin TwoM last night, with the Body Glove case that they sell on Verizon's web site (first link below). After my employee discount it was only $7.47 (regular price online is $9.99) / free shipping with the phone. The case is listed for the Kin Two, and it does fit the TwoM perfectly. The case has a really nice feel to it, and I find it much easier to open the phone with the case on (I'm using the frame of the case that covers the top of the phone to open the phone, rather than using the screen to open the phone). Kind of slippery with the case off. The case doesn't interfere with the buttons or the keyboard at all. I was a bit nervous about it affecting the keyboard's sliding, but it doesn't affect it in the slightest bit. The only negative about the case, is it definitely bulks up the phone. I just took off the case after only using the phone for about 5 hours to see if I liked the looks better, and using the phone better, without the case, and I immediately didn't like opening the phone without the case, due to how slippery it is, so I put the case right back on. I don't really care for cases on phones, but I'm way too clumsy with my phones not to use a case anymore. I drop my phone almost once a day. If you don't want to use the clip on the case, the piece of the case that the clip, clips on to, is removable from the INSIDE of the case, and they give you a black piece to replace it so that you don't have a hole in the back of the case. Right now I'm using it clipless, but I may try it with the clip because I find it a little bulky in my pocket. Any comments from anyone else who has tried other cases? I'm looking at the cases on AccessoryOne, but don't know if they'll be really cheap looking. This company also sells these same cases through Amazon. I'm not sure if I will like that much of the front of the phone covered though. I kind of like the Body Glove style of case and how it just frames the front of the phone, rather than covering the bottom and top section of the top of the phone.
Here are links to the two cases.
Body Glove Case
AccessoryOne's Case
I received my new case from AccessoryOne last night (2nd link below). I had seen this case on Amazon for only $4 or $5, and then went directly to the Company website and the same case was only 99 cents there. Bought a full screen protector as well for 99 cents, that covers the entire screen and not just the display area. Shipping was $3.95 or so. I had read on this forum where a few people had tried cases from Amazon and said they were fine, but I didn't see where they gave details on which case they bought. First impression? You get what you pay for !! The second I opened the box, I thought...yuck..this case looks CHEAP. The rubberized plastic feels good in your hand, but it's a cheap plastic, and no padding on the inside of the case to give added protection. I bought the lime green, and it looks like a kiddie case. I have a lime green "SwitchEasy Torrent" on my Itouch, and that's a beautiful case. But that's a $35 case. This one from AccessoryOne is just cheap looking. Well what do you expect for a case for only $1. The case fits, but it's not designed well, and causes a lot of friction when you try to open the phone. It opens, but there's friction because they didn't leave any space between the top part of the cover and the bottom part. I thought maybe I'd use the top part of my black Body Glove case that I bought through Verizon which is designed really well (1st link below), along with the green bottom cover from AccessoryOne and create a funky combo case. The lime green looks cool with the green theme on the Kin Two, BUT....that combo case lasted about 10 minutes before I took it off as it just makes the phone look cheap. So the Body Glove case is back on my phone. While I thought the Body Glove case bulked up my phone too much, now that I tried an inferior cheapo case, I appreciate the Body Glove case a lot more. It has a nice texture to it and feels good in the hand. While the texture and grippiness feels nice in your hand, it does make it a little harder to slide into your pocket. The bottom of the Body Glove case is lined with a padded velvety material protecting the back of your phone, and giving it a little padding, and the top cover of the Body Glove case is designed very well and doesn't interfere AT ALL when you slide your phone open. It's actually a lot easier to open the phone with the Body Glove case rather than the phone with no case as the phone is slippery. Someone on this forum said the Body Glove case for the Kin is $12.99 at the Verizon store, but I ordered it online at Verizon for only $7.44 after my Employee discount. Full price online was $9.99 . When I just checked now online at Verizon, the case is coming up for $19.99. I wonder if they offer accessories at a discounted price when you are going through the process of purchasing a phone online. I really prefer to go case-less with phones, but I'm just too clumsy for that. I was looking at my Brother's Droid yesterday, and said HEY....is that a Body Glove case? It had the same texurized material that my Body Glove case is made of. He told me that it was a Body Glove case, and he tried several cases from Verizon and he thought this one was by far the best.
^ That's quite disappointing...I ordered a hot pink AccessoryOne case a couple of days ago and am awaiting arrival. I'm afraid of breaking my phone if i don't have a case (I've never had a phone this nice before, but I've always had a case on my iPod, so ya know?)...
I guess I'll wait and see. I was expecting something cheap (one of my friends once had an AccessoryOne case for his phone -- lime green actually), so I know what they're like, but of course, not all phone cases fit the phones they're made for all that well.
P.S. On Amazon, you can easily find AccessoryOne cases for $0.96 or so with shipping around $3. That's what I did.
ooo question pammy!!
how does the screen protector feel? I mean does it curl off at the edges? does it cover the home button, earpiece and the face sensory thingy next to earpiece well? by cover, I mean does it leave the holes correctly?
for some reason mine won't come until the christmas week. bummer. i want it now!
ps. is yours clear screen protector or mirror? i ordered a mirror one.

I have a screen protector on mine (bought a generic 4 pack -- cut to size from Target. It's a regular clear one, and I cut it to cover just the screen and nothing else. It's fairly thick, has no curling, and I'm quite happy with it, just FYI.
Hi KeepOnSingn. Let me know what you think of the case when you get it. I do think that young teens might like the cases from AccessoryOne, but I honestly think it's pretty cheesy looking and it really does feel very cheaply made. It's just a very low cost/quality case. But if someone can't afford a lot on a case, it's a good option. Other than them not leaving enough space between the top and the bottom cover, the case fits well. I just don't like the friction it added when you slide the phone open.
Body Glove got it right... I just wish they didn't make the bottom of the case quite so think because it really bulks up the phone. It should be really protected though !
i've had a case for awhile. mine's plastic. it seems fragile but whatever. it covers it fine and seems durable enough. i always thought the back of the kintwom was very slippery so i think the plastic back case drastically improves the grip, making it a whole lot easier to slide out the keyboard.
here's some pictures: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/5444/95844352.jpg
oh thank you for posting those pics! i ordered the same kind, just a different style... amazon and its vendors don't have too much pics of this kind for some reason (i saw a few on karendeals and ordered it from there just bc they provided pics). so thanks again! was wondering how it would feel...
thanks again for sharing!!
I've also wondered from looking at all these pictures of the cases, will the case have an effect on pressing the camera button? I think the camera button is hard to press as it is right now without the case (thank god for the on-screen button), but will the bulky case prevent us from touch that button at all?
When it comes to pushing the camera button, i actually find it easier with the case. I have the $4 AccessoryOne black 'rubberized' case, and now when pushing the button, your finger actually kind of sinks into the button. My fingers aren't small, but they also aren't large. The problem without the case is the reverse-chamfer on the phone, added to the slippery nature of the plastic of the battery cover. Now, i can hold the phone tightly because of the rubber's friction, and then the groove for the camera button helps my finger go directly down on it.
As far as the friction of hte sliding goes, if you want to fix this, go ahead and take a file/sandpaper to the case's 'clipping areas', which is where i believe the parts are contacting. Don't file away too much, but just enough to give it some clearance. Worst-case scenario, you thin the clips too much and make them weak, and/or damage/break your $4 case (assuming you did the smart thing and filed it while the case was OFF the phone).
Also, if you don't like the additional bulkiness (about 1/8") added by cases, you could just spray some 'rubber' onto your battery cover. I thought about doing this, but i decided the bulkiness of hte case wasn't too bad to bother me (although i might change my mind in the future). Take off your cover, and go out and buy some Plasti-Dip (sells for about $6, for a quart-ish sized can..pretty cheap). It can be found in the paint section of Home Depot, and i assume the same for Lowes/other stores, or online. This stuff is the material they use for making plier-handles and other tool handles, but i also use a lot of this stuff for other purposes at work. It is really just a rubber-compound, with some Methyl-Ethyl Ketone (MEK) mixed in to make it 'liquidized' (the actual composition is on the can, although i never really read the whole label). They sell them in brush-on/dip cans, as well as spray-cans, i would recommend the spray-on for this application. There are directions on the container, but it is simple enough.
Make sure you are in a properly-aerated location like outdoors (as you would for any other chemicals), pop off the battery cover, and place it on a surface.Give it a light coating, to sufficiently cover the case, but not 'globby', and let it set. I think 1 coating is sufficient, but you can experiment with this and give it another if you like. Make sure you don't spray the inside, or the side 'clip' sections, which could cause the cover to not fit properly onto the phone. And Voila, you have a rubber-textured battery cover. This stuff does peel off, although i don't know how much prying you'd have to do without a release-agent applied.
If you are worried you will mess up, go ahead and apply some 'release agent' (some sort of oil..cooking oil, baby oil, shortening, it all will work) at first and practice around with the plasti-dip material. Then, peel it off (easily done with the release agent), and try again. When you are ready to apply the actual 'permanent' coating, make sure you degrease the cover (rubbing alcohol will do, or if you have denatured alcohol or other chemicals...although those stronger 'industrial' agents could also take off the paint from the cover) and apply the spray 1 last time. If you are still worried about ruining the phone battery cover, you can look online to see if they sell kin one/two battery covers (they don't need to be M models, the hardware between the old and new kin phones are identical), but i haven't done so, so i don't know if they sell extra covers for this phone that you could do this on. After time, it could possibly wear off, but then just apply another coat (there's plenty of this stuff in a can...for $6, you can find many other uses for it around the house, otherwise it'll just go to waste).
Regarding the tabs while texting/typing, if you have a file, you can knock those down a little bit and then they are much less noticeable. Note, that filing them will take off the black paint since it is a very thin layer, but you can go over those with a permanent marker, and its hardly noticeable after that (unless you stare at them). I used this case for about a month before i decided i didn't like the bulk, its not much, but just enough to feel 'too big'. I ended up purchasing a skinomi full body skin, and i like this solution much better. I did end up filing down the volume buttons a little bit, and that was one of the best things i've done with the phone. Now, its hard to press them. I figured, there aren't many times i need to push them, especially in a hurry, so if it removes the accidental pocket press, it is well worth it. I can still press it fairly easily, so long as i can find it (the texture is nearly flush with the phone, so really i can move my finger over it without noticing). I've ordered a wriststrap for the phone, because i use it a lot for a camera, which will be great for making sure i don't drop it.
fisharefriends, does the skinomi body wrap feel like it offers any impact protection? Or is it just for scratch resistance?
I don't think it does add any impact resistance. It is a thin film, and a 'flexible' one at that, so the most you are getting is the elasticity of the thin material. Think of a screen protector, and that put on the entire body..doesn't really help much with drops. I will say though, if the phone does happen to crack (i'm talking about the battery cover, since physically that is the only part that even feels like it can crack from accidental dropping), the film will hold it together and it should be somewhat functional. I am 100% satisfied with my skinomi skin, it does exactly what i expected it to. The best part, is its 'self-healing' claim really is true, the material itself (i personally would like to know what material it is..but i guess thats a company secret or i just haven't done any research to find out) does have that elastic property to it, which more or less doesn't even let it scratch, it more 'dents' when it is scratched, which is why it can just retain its original 'non-scratched' form over time.
One thing to mention though: don't take any chemicals to the surface..like rubbing/denatured alcohol. I use that stuff at work for cleaning and such, and decided one day that i should degrease the phone with it. What that actually did was strip the surface of the skin, leaving permanent scratches and scrapes on the skin. Because i don't know what the skin material actually is, i can't say whether lighter cleaners like windex or such will compromise the skin, but its just safe to only use water..stick with soap and water.
To be honest though, the phone is very, very rigid on the front screen side. I can say, i've dropped my phone a few times, the hardest was on a hard carpet (the kind that really has no spring or thickness to it..like you would see in a store or business building) from arm's height, and not a single issue. It even sounded solid; my old phone, you could hear parts wiggling and such, but this phone gave it a hard 'thunk', which really gave me a sense of security that it was a solid phone. The only part i am worried about is the battery cover; however, while it does feel weak, theres a chance that microsoft chose a composite that is thin and light, but is stronger than it feels. I'm no materials expert (nor do i want to find out with my phone), but i don't have the insecurities of its physical quality that i did when i first bought the phone. Not to mention, if you're worried about dropping it, go ahead and add a camera wriststrap to it (read one of hte other threads on these forums on how to do so..i believe the title was as straightforward as 'Phone does have lanyard strap hold', or something like that).
I'd recommend the SKinomi skins..i have a full-body one, but if you do want the extra assurance from drops, go ahead and just buy the screen protector, and then cases still fit over it (a case won't fit over the phone with a full-body skin protector; the added thickness, although minute, is enough to make it so the clips don't snap on because they were designed for a tight fit in the beginning). Full-body are $19, and screen-only are $10. Also, they have lifetime replacement guarantees, and since i scratched my screen protector, as well as since applying it, i've gotten a warranty phone replacement, i went ahead and filed the replacement form. Their website has you do it by fax, and i didn't get a notification, reply, or any sort of confirmation of reception for a week or so, so i sent them an email last week. They replied and said that they were on top of it, apologizing for the delay, and that they were going to cover the shipping costs for the replacement, so hopefully by the end of next week, they will hold their word on that and i will be a very satisfied customer. Well worth the $10, or $19, especially with the lifetime replacements, if they hold their end of it. But even if they don't, this skin is very tough and unless you are dumb like me and applie heavy chemicals to it, there should be nothing in daily use that will damage the skin. And i've read about the Zagg invisibleShields, and while they don't make them for the Kin phones, they are essentially the same (same film material, application method, etc). The one difference is that I've read the Zagg's have an 'orange-peel' texture to them (which is bad), and i haven't noticed that at all on the Skinomi skins. So for me, Skinomi has my money, not Zagg. Zagg has the bigger name, Skinomi has the better product (and the only, for Kin phones..).
I did say i was going to post a full Skinomi review, but i haven't gotten around to it. Just a short review though, like stated above, i'd recommend it. It is a little 'tedious' to install, but i actually find it easier than the cheap, regular screen protectors because of hte ability to move and slide it once it is on the phone, due to it using a spray during application. Just quick advice, until i post the full review and installation guide/helpful tips, remember that the spray is not the adhesive itself, it is just something to keep the adhesive moist and not sticky during installation. Keep your fingers covered, but as for the actual skin, it only needs a light coat. Applie from the center, out, and let time dry the spray to press the edges down. All the micro-bubbles do disappear, so don't worry about those. What you do have to worry about are the larger bubbles, make sure you push all of those out, both the fluid bubbles and air bubbles. In theory, the fluid bubbles would disappear as it dries, but the problem is, if you seal in a large enough of a bubble, then it will never dry because it has no air flow to dry out. I hope to get around to a full review in a week or two (i know i said this last time..my apologies), but hopefully this will do for now.
How well does the full-face screen protector fit? I bought the smaller (fits only over the screen) because i was doubtful.
I imagine since its rounded on all edges that creating a thing sheet that fits is challenging.
I don't know about the 'cheaper' versions of hte full-screen protector. But i do know that the skinomi screen protectors (which are the full screen) cover it nearly perfectly, and because of their more flexible material, as well as better adhesive, they stick very well and are very durable, and are pretty much a perfect fit on the screen. The corners are near impossible to turn up, and i would highly recommend spending the $10 to get a Skinomi skin rather than the cheaper, 'buy-n-replace' skins. Its application takes a bit longer (about an hour to apply, and 12-24 to cure), but it is well worth it after that, you can hardly notice it on the phone, it protects against scratches (and the 'self-healing' advertising really does work), and it prevents fingerprints.
Update: Treque holster w/ Skinomi protector
Finally figured out how to apply the Skinomi without dust getting in the way (mostly). By applying the Skinomi in a closed bathroom with the showing steaming, dust becomes a non issue. I did the application for the back cover then the front screen on separate days.
The back plate was easy because it's removable so you don't need to worry about moisture getting in the phone and you can press really hard to get the bubbles out. The cut outs for the curved sides took a little repositioning but they adhere really well once cured. The front was trickier, because it was hard to line up the holes, keep the bubbles out and watch out moisture didn't get in any of the holes. My alignment was a little off and I did get a few bubbles that I had to patiently work out to the sides by pressing with my fingernail. Over the last few days the other visible imperfections have faded to tolerable level but are still visible. Compared to the screen protector I bought from Verizon, the Skinomi doesn't have the mirror glossy finish of the bare screen or old screen protector.
The finish on the back plate and screen looks like a oily, slightly ripply gloss. It does resemble a orange peel texture if you look closely at an angle reflection but it's only weakly textured in that regard. Touch screen response seems to be about the same as bare screen. Holding the phone now has a warm squeaky traction friction feel instead of the slippery hollow plastic.
With the Skinomi on the Kin, it does fit into the Treque belt clip holster but not quite as instant press-snap as before. I have to press the catch lock in place now because with the extra skin layer in size and the added friction from the screen skin the spring latch will no longer latch flush on it's own when pressing the Kin into the holster. The holster does appear to leave some wear makes on the skin where it contacts, but the self healing nature of the skin seems to keep it to a minimum.
Overall I'm happy with this setup, as my phone is not bumping around in my pockets, it's quickly accessible, and the controls are not encumbered in anyway. I do wish the screen protector visibility was crystal clear, but that is the trade off for the self healing skin property. I'm very careful and rarely ever drop my phone so I'm satisfied with only the scratch resistance protection of the Skinomi, others might not be so inclined.
Glad you like it.
As far as the orange-peel effect goes, it only appears on the back of mine, not hte front. I'm pretty sure they have 2 different products, 1 for the screen which is higher quality (and orange-peel free), and 1 for every other part for all phones. My screen-side is as clear as it was before i put the skin on. At least, every little 'spot' imperfection on it is of my own fault through installation.
As far as getting it to snap in tighter, i don't know how much manual customization you want to go through, but you could try filing the clip down slightly to make it bigger, for the added sliver of bulk that the skin adds.
