When I get my new phone, do I have to do anything before removing the SD card from my S7?? Or do I just remove it and pop it into the S8 plus??
My personal rule of thump is to always power off the device before installing/removing the SD or the sim card. Once installed/removed then power on the device.
Doing so will ensure that the card is not being written to when u remove it.
