My note 5 wont connect to my computer. help!!

I am using the original data cable that came with my phone but my computer doesnt recognize my phone anymore. I want to transfer pics and music. Also when I plug my phone into my computer my phone says slow charge. Please help!! I am running windows 8 and have galaxy note 5. Thanks!

When you connect the phone and computer with the USB cable, do you pull down the phone's notification shade and change the USB mode to File Transfer?

Yes but it doesn't give me the USB option it says charging and when I click

that it takes me to apps that are running down my battery.

I'm having the same issue. Does NOT give me the option to change to file transfer. Just takes me to the battery screen

I'm having the same issue! The USB connection option does not show up in the pull down!

Have you tried smart switch or Kies to transfer you music and pictures to your computer? Also do you have the developer options activated? Go to settings- about phone- tap build number I think about 7 or 8 times.Then go into developer option and go down to usb debugging and turn that on. Hopefully this will help.
