What could possibly be causing this and could it be why my apps have trouble connecting to my camera?
It sounds related. While it seems uncommon, there've been a few cases of S6 cameras having trouble focusing and making grinding noises when they attempt to. If there's no physical damage to your device and it's still in warranty, you should be able to get it replaced.
STEVE_VERHINES_SR, that sound the phone is making is definitely not normal. We're here to get to the bottom of this. When do you notice the phone making this sound? How long has the sound been present? What apps are giving you trouble accessing the camera?
