Can the HTC One Remix work with Samsung Gear?

My husband has the HTC One Remix and he was looking at one of the Samsung gear watches that they have out. Will the Samsung App and gear work with his HTC One Remix. The people at the Verizon store said it would work with a couple of the HTC One's but the Remix was not listed....

This is a great question, mdsmit56. I know how awesome having a smartwatch can be, and of course how important it is for that watch to be compatible with your phone. Is he able to download the Galaxy Gear app onto his phone? This will determine the phones compatibility, as the watch syncs the phone content through this app.
