Buying the Droid X off Amazon.com

Hello, I was planning to order my Droid X from Amazon, but the problem is my upgrade is not up yet, so I am using my dad's upgrade since he doesn't care about phones. However, Amazon doesn't have an option for transferring upgrades. If I order the Droid X from Amazon and put in my dad's number, will I be able to call and activate it to my number instead without affecting his phone?

You should be able to, but you won't be able to do it without talking to a representative when you activate the phone.  I did this with my husband's line and then activated the phone on another line temporarily.
