On my Samsung S7 I used to be able to select to send a contact directly to voice mail. I no longer see that option. What happen to it or how can I send a contact number directly to voice mail.
On an S6 with Nougat and the latest updates, there are at least two ways to block a contact:
Contacts > tap the contact > tap Details > tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner > tap Block Contact
Phone > tap the contact > tap Details > tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner > tap Block Contact
Since the S6 and S7 are similar ... do either of those work on your phone?
Have you opened the specific contact to edit and see what your options are under the listing or the menu button?
Yes I have. That's where it used to be. That option is no longer there after the last Verizon update.
I haven't done the Nougat update yet, and I have no option to send contacts calls directly to voicemail.
That's irrelevant. I used to have it, now I don't. What you think I'm making it up?
Ok, yes I can go through and set Block call, which I guess does what I want and sends the number straight to voice mail. I thought Block call totally blocked the caller. Why didn't they just label it Send to Voice mail? Anyway I good with that. Thanks.
Other phone models had labeled it as send to voicemail. Samsung chose a different terminology for the same functionality.
That feature is no longer there. Big bummer. I loved it

bellmom123, having the ability to send calls directly to voicemail is great. Don't worry. You can still send calls directly to your voicemail with Call Forwarding. Take a look at the Call Forwarding FAQs. https://www.verizon.com/support/call-forwarding-faqs/ Does this information help? JacobG_VZW
