Custom Ringtones on Moto Play Z-repeat too soon

Just received our new Moto Z Play. We loaded a few custom ringtones and in the list when you choose them they play fully. However when someone calls the play for 5-7 seconds and then repeat prematurely.

Any ideas to fix this...have tried everything- used wav, ogg, and mp3 files and all do the same

I like to be sure that I know it's my phone ringing when it does. So the custom ring tones certainly help. Where did you download these from?
