Why Won't My S8 Notify Me About Texts?

The message app on my S8 will not notify me when i get a text. No light up, vibration, sound, anything. I have tried everything i know but i can't seem to get it to work. I also can't seem to find the quick text feature like my note 4 had. I really loved that feature and I'm hoping I'm just blind and can't see it. Please help!

We want you to have a full functioning S8 as expected. Let's get this figured out. When did this start? Are you able to receive other notifications (i.e. voicemail, email, app, etc)? To clarify, are you referring to the "quick response" feature that you loved with your Note 4? Here's a link that will assist in confirming device audio setting are correct http://vz.to/2oNSNUk.
