Making local wifi calls while abroad on TravelPass

I will be traveling to England, and I am on the TravelPass plan. The area I will be in has spotty cell service, so I might need to use wifi calling for both local calls and calls home to the US. So, if I turn on airplane mode with wifi, can I make these calls with no charge or data phone data usage?

I know how important it is to make sure that you can stay connected while traveling out of the country. I don't see why this feature wouldn't work. Please just make sure that you activate wifi calling here first before you leave. The quality of the call would depend on the wifi connection that you have while you are there. Does this help?
