Need secret to enable my USB on Droid Turbo to move photos to PC

Hey!

I am have been searching, and cannot find a set of instructions that tel me how to override the Marshmallow defaults on my Droid Turbo ballistic Nylon. Since January's upgrade, i cannot back up/move photos , I can see the phone, on my PC when I link with USB but not those files.

is there a step by step for android users that will walk me through resestablishing thsi abiliyt to se my storage folders on my phone form my computer?

Pull down the notification shade and change the USB connection type from charging only to File Transfer.

I have the same issue as OP, and changing USB connection type to File Transfer makes the DCIM folder visible in PC, but contents are not there (the photos are still on the phone). Changing connection type to Photo Transfer works to get files over, but file names and dates do not transfer correctly, so that's no good.
