Pop-up ads

Just recently purchased the Google Pixel 2. Now all of a sudden I have ads popping up after I have closed out of my phone, so when I go back in I have a pop-up on the screen. I have deleted the history, the pop-up button is not on. What can I do?

snstaylor, pop up ads can certainly be annoying. Do you notice this happening while using certain apps only? What are the pop up ads usually for? Anything specific?
