I recently tried to send a picture from my computer, via email, to my Verizone Phone.
The email went through and I could view the picture jsut as if it was sent via text.
However, when I tried to save the picture to my phone, I would put in a name (i.e. Test) and I would get the message "Invalid Name: Contains Nonalpha numberic values"
How can I get around this? The text is clearly alpha numeric. I tried numerous different cominations with the same results. I even tried renaming the file before emailing it to my phone
What email address are you sending them to, and what email are you using to send them? I'm wondering if something is being added along the line. What are you trying to call/rename the picture? Are there spaces in the filename? If so, try a short name without spaces.
I have tried sending it from my hotmail account (xxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com) as well as the My Verizon section.
Both times, I had the same results. Here is how I renamed the files after receiving them on my phone
Test
1234
Test1234
I also tried changing the names of the files before emailing them
Test.jpg
1234.jpg
Test1234.jpg
No matter the combination, the error is still showing up. I honesty do not know what to do as I am able to take pictures with my camera and rename them
Filenames all look just fine...how large is the file and what is the picture resolution (1024x960, 640X480, etc)? Perhaps it is greater than your phone can handle and it gives you that error for some reason? If it's not, then are you embedding the photo in the body of the email or sending it as an attachment? Is there text in both the subject line and body of the email you are sending (even if it is just to say test test?? I'm trying to think of resaons why it would not go through normally from email to your phone...so just throwing ideas out.
So I tried resizing the photos to as small as possible. I then tried with test in the subject and body and withouth. After all this I still had the same result.
I even sent a photo I took with my cameraphone (the same phone) and sent it to itself. When I tried to save that picture, I got the same error message. Seems like there is a glitch or some setting that is causing this.
