Not able to receive texts from one certain number

I am able to send a text to a certain number but can not get a reply from that number nor can she initiate a text to me. She is not blocked on my phone. I have an S7. We have deleted each other as contacts, restarted our phone and tried to exchange text again but it did not work. She has an I phone 6.

@njs3 Being able to communicate with others is very important. Can you please tell me when did this begin? Have you made any changes to your phone? Can you make and receive calls to that number? Please share details so we can help.
