Messages+ notifies me of text messages during the Do Not Disturb hours on my S8+. If I use other messaging apps, I don't have this problem. I like Messages+ because of the computer app, but this is unacceptable. Any suggestions?
CptnRon,
Being able to control when your device gives notifications is everything, so we apologize for any trouble you're having with Message+ not abiding by your Do Not Disturb rules. So that we can provide the best help possible, we'll need to know some additional information. When did you begin having this trouble? What version Message+ do you have installed? Check by going to Menu(three lines upper left corner) > Settings and view the version number displayed in the bottom-center of the screen.

same problem here. I found that if I switch to the native samsung messaging app as my default, the do not disturb function works fine. as soon as I switch back to messages+, my notifications are not longer muted. It's always done it, even prior to Android 8.0.
I'm running messages version 6.6.5
I have been having this problem as well since the newest Android upgrade on Aug 2nd (G930vvrs4crg2) and June 11 (g930vvru4cre5). I run the latest version of Message+ (Version 6.6.7). Sometimes it works correctly, other times it does not. It will still pop up over the status bar, sometimes it will make an alert sound, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it let's through my favorite people, other times it doesn't.
hulberts8908 we want your text messaging to work correctly for you. Text messaging is how we communicate. Let's make sure that we fix this issue. So that we can look into this further, I have sent you a Private Message.

No Answer? I just got woken up at 3:30am despite "Do Not Disturb" !
Messages+ Version 6.6.7
HTC 10
Hi, iRenegade. I understand you asked earlier about pop-ups, and we responded, so I am sorry you were awoken in the middle of the night and you are referring to the original post regarding the Message+ app not responding to "do not disturb." Please make certain you have the updated version of the app, and and then disable notifications from the app. As mentioned above, there is no option to set priority to which messages should or should not be blocked by "do not disturb" and you may only choose to enable or disable notifications to ensure you won't be disturbed at all hours. If this information was not useful, please tell us what other information we can get for you, so we know what else we didn't cover. I hope this helps.

Totally redundant and useless response. Unacceptable. There is no excuse for a company like VZW not to have competent software personnel to fix this long standing problem. Other apps updated why not Verizon?
I am having this problem as well. Do not disturb is set and all notifications are coming through from Messages+. Including a string of 20 texts at 8 in the morning. Am I to understand from post 6 that there is no way Messages+ will follow the rules set by do not disturb? Going to bed and waking up every morning and messing with notification settings is not a fix.
Same issue Furious with Verizon for not fixing this after the problem was identified in this forum months ago. The response from rhe tech is totally unacceptable. Wish the senior management in charge at Verizon had their sleep disturbed. Then they'd fix the problem. Been a Verizon wireless customer for decades and the inadequate response to this issue marks the first time I seriously wish I had a different carrier.
Has everybody experiencing this 'bug' gone into their app settings and sent a 'Report a Bug' to the Developers? Maybe if they get enough of these, they'll get the 'message'...
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your concern. We know it can bring frustration and it's vital we look into this to the best of our ability for you. To start, can we have you verify the last time you've tried to install and then download the application was?

This is a long standing bug in Message+. I experience this as well. It happened on my S8 and is now happening on my brand new S10. It doesnt' matter the version of Android or Message+.
VERIZON - It is simple to recreate the issue:
1. Get a Samsung Galazy S8, S9, or S10. Install all updates. I believe you can get one of these from your own store.
2. Install the latest version of Message+ (or update to it). Set Message+ to be your default messaging app.
I am running a brand new S10 with all updates and Message+ version 6.7.12.
3. Then set your phone to Vibrate (not silent).
4. Then setup Do Not Disturb in the phone settings. I have a schedule that runs every night from 11PM to 8AM. Wait for it to come on or manually turn it on.
5. With Do Not Disturb turned ON, and the phone screen off, send yourself a text from another phone (any phone - doesn't matter if it is a favorite or not).
You will see that the phone Vibrates if Message+ is your default messaging application. Bottom line is that Message+ ignores the Do Not Disturb setting on the phone that every other app works perfectly with.
PLEASE fix this. It has been this way for a LONG time.
Dougpara,
Having ongoing issues with an application that you use the most to stay connected is quite frustrating. This is not the type of experience we want you to have using your mobile device. I want to do everything possible to make sure that we resolve the Message+ and you can return to enjoying the service again.
Thanks for confirming the issue occurs across various Android mobile devices, no matter the Message+ version that is installed. I personally use an iPhone 8 and a Galaxy S7 device. I attempted to duplicate the Message+ issue and was not able to on either phone.
Jav6 provided the next best step to report the bug. Please go into Message+ Settings and select Report Bugs. The feedback goes directly to the software developer to be addressed: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/113418?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en
Does this information provide clarity?

I've begun having this sisue on my Pixel 2 as well. Messnger+ Version 6.8.3 I have reported the bug. Will be using another chat program until this is fixed.
How long has this been happening for, Luckyshot11? Also, have you performed any troubleshooting steps since this started to happen? AnthonyM_VZW
Yep, still not fixed. Had the problem on the S7 and now on my new S10. I'm an EXTREMELY sensitive sleeper and it's hard to go back to sleep after something has jolted me awake, so I resent the heck out of this. (Bonus points: When it ended my nap today, it made a sound too, even though I have the phone set to vibrate only.)
It's clear that Verizon REALLY wants us to use Message +, but that no one's going to solve the dang problem - do a search and you'll see this goes further back than this thread. Seriously, what's in it for ANYONE to wake people up? How is making people angry good for ANYTHING? So sick of apps that demand our attention no matter what. Yo developers: That's DUMB.Bye-bye Message +. Default SMS app changed. My sleep is sacred, and mess anyone who can't respect that.
P.S. If you're going to censor my language, how about you use **** so it doesn't look like I can't speak English? I didn't say ANYTHING that couldn't be said on broadcast TV, btw.
I uninstall the app, then reinstalled it and the do not disturb WORKS! 😁
