Why can send but not receive messages from iphone users unless they turn off imessenger?
I'm using Samsung galaxy s7 by the way
Do you any Apple products associated with your phone number that those phones still think that you can receive iMessages?
Tell those iPhone users to make a small change to their settings. Open the Settings app and select Messages. You will see the option “Send as SMS”. Change that setting to on.
I've never owned an apple product. Yes, I know about them turning on sms. Problem I'm having is I've never had this issue with the s6 I had.
This is very big inconvenience to tell them to change their setting like that when I have to and rely on texts from new people. There has to be a better way.
Also, if they have imessenger still on, it sends their text to a completely different person other than me.
It's important that you are able to receive all messages, ANDBEL46. The iPhone has the ability to send and receive iMessages to other Apple users, if these messages are going out as iMessage then you will not receive the text. Is the message sending green or blue from the iPhones? If it is blue it is iMessage and not text. If the Send as SMS setting is not turned on in the iPhone then that user essentially does not have the ability to send a text to any other device other than another Apple user.
Can you clarify what you mean when you say the text is being sent to another person when iMessage is still turned on? When this setting is turned on the message should still go to you as long as your 10 digit number is being entered and SMS is enabled on the iPhone.
