has anybody else had any issues with verizon message plus crashing since the oreo update. I have to keep disabling it and enabling it and then updating it to get it to work..and that is every single day
It's important for your apps to work properly with your device, chankins59. What device do you have? You mentioned that you have had to update the app. Can you confirm which version of the app you have installed? You can view this by opening the Message+ app and selecting the menu icon in the upper left corner and selecting About.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet Tab A and a Pixel 2 with the Message+ installed on both devices. Ever since the first of the year the Message+ app is very, very slow with a great deal of lag and also freezing ONLY on the Samsung Tablet. IT works fine with no problem on my Pixel 2. I have cleared the cash, deleted the data, did an uninstall and fresh install of the app only to have this same frustrating problem continue.
The app also closed with a small window that tells me it has stopped working etc. with an option to send feedback which I have done a few times. Please help!! I really like the Verizon Messag+ app as it syncs so well with my Pixel 2 cell phone. -
I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled..everything that I could..I continues to crash and I don't get my texts..I didn't have this issue when I had my Droid Turbo. It just started with my new phone , Moto Force Z edition..I have no idea what version of the app it is..I have finally just disabled it and installed another messaging app, because this Verizon app will not stop crashing and it's frustrating..I would love for it to work, but it's not
I appreciate you taking the time to submit feedback when you experience this issue, Mimirisa. We want you to be able to continue using the app to sync across your devices. Can you confirm which app version is currently installed with the following steps. Opening the Message+ app>Selecting the menu icon in the upper left corner>Select About.
We don't want you to have to worry about missing your texts, chankins59. I understand you have disabled the app. Prior to doing so, were you able to check the app version by going to opening the Message+ app>Selecting the menu icon in the upper left corner>Select About?
I'm having the same problem - voicemail keeps stopping. Tried clearing cache and data - no change. Samsung S8.
EXTREMELY bad for me, I use this phone for work. Come on, Verizon, give us a fix.
Carolyngoolsby, we want all the services and features to work correctly on your phone especially in this day and age. Just to confirm, what exactly is happening? Is this in regards to the Verizon Messages+ app or the voicemail? When did you start having trouble like this?

Sorry, I was under the wrong topic. I keep getting the message "Voicemail has stopped" It interrupts me every few minutes for a while, then not again for hours. This started right after I installed the last update.
I've switched to gmail Inbox for mail. And that's not giving me badges for new email, even though it's set for all notifications in the app and for Badges in Settings.
Another problem since the update is that I'm not receiving sound notifications for messages in existing conversations in Message+. I do get a badge and an icon in the notification bar. Since I like to keep conversations for reference, you can imagine how annoying that is. My boss texted me several times the other day before I realized Message+ wasn't notifying me. Now I have to check my phone every few minutes for texts. I've checked settings in both Message+ and Settings, and everything seems to be in order.
By the way - I tried responding to your email and got an "undeliverable" bounce-back.
We understand the frustration this must be causing you. Is this happening with any other application?

Same issues Galaxy S2 Tablet.
Message+ is ver 6.6.4.
Also voice calling won't enable like it has in past probably due to HD voice being required now and tablet doesn't have.
No problems on Galaxy Note 5.
Just sent bug report from app.
I've been having the same problems. My messages take forever to send, won't show I've read them, fancy emoji freeze my phone. I've found a fix that doesn't require factory reset and possibly loosing all my info on my phone. Open the settings, find application manager, open message plus app, select force stop. A message will come up asking if you want to replace with original version, select yes. Agree to all the Verizon terms and open the app to make sure your texts are there. The app icon is replaced with a little green guy. From there go to the play store and find the message plus app. Select purchase, it will ask if you want to download of update, select update, it will load and replace the little green man icon with the red message plus sign your used to seeing. Open the app and make sure all your texts are there. I have done this and am not having any more problems.
Started to get the same issue, Messenger + crashes if I try to open it.
Samsung Galaxy S8
Hardware Rev1.0
Messenge+ version 6.8.8
To me, its operating about as good as Windows ME.
Will there be a fix for this? I have submitted feedback multiple times as it keeps crashing for no reason (it crashes when I try to open it....or click on an incoming message...or anything...it does crash like Windows ME used to crash!)
Me too on Pixel 2 XL with Android 9. Message+ was updated yesterday.
My fiance has the s8 and it is crashing on message+
SYSTEM UPDATE and Message+ pushed yesterday.....S10e..... no workie
Mine just quit working too. I've cleared cache, memory, even uninstalled and reinstalled it.
I have a Samsung 9+. Message+ version 6.8.8
Please help! I need this for work!!
I'm on an S8 and Message plus was working fine earlier today, now it won't even open. If I go to my phone and select a contact, I can message from there.
I uninstalled the update and it is working to text and receive. Voice texting still not working properly. Don't know how long it keep working though. But it is working at the moment.
Can't even open the app!! It crashes right away
Mine just started doing this within the last hour (I don't think anything updated on my phone during that time, as far as I can tell). I've restarted the phone multiple times, cleared the cache and data, and wiped the cache partition. Starting the Message+ service looks promising, and I can see my message history, but as soon as the service fully initializes, the app instantly quits. "Message+ keeps stopping". I have submitted feedback multiple times as well.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 (SM-G950U).
System Software updated to G95OUSQU6DSG7 on July 27, 2019.
Message+ version 6.8.8
Please help!
I'm still having the same problem.

I wanted to follow up with some more potentially useful troubleshooting info....
So, I guess that I have "limited functionality", which is better than nothing, but still FAR from working correctly.
Same problem here. LG G6. An update came through last night. Today, the Message+ app won't start. When I click on it, it says it "keeps stopping". If I touch "restart", it says the same thing. I finally just changed over to the LG messaging app and it works fine. I prefer the Message+ app if it would just work.
Verizon needs to accept that they have caused a serious problem with the update and do something about it.
I'm having the same issue with a Note 8. Started this evening. As soon as I open the app it crashes. I have force stopped, restarted, power off, updated app, disabled app. Nothing fixes it. I've switched back to the default messenger for now.
The fix in the link worked for me, mine kept crashing since the update, uninstalled the update, messages+ work now.
VZW fix your broken software...we pay way to much for your serivce and phones to have things not work as they should.
I have the Samsung 8+. Message+ was working fine then stopped. I try to open it and I get the message "Message+ has stopped". I uninstalled it and installed it again and still have the same problem
Having same problem here and it's so frustrating.
I had same symptons as have read here, starting Thursday eve Aug 1. Message + on recently updated S8 wouldn't launch, got same error message, cleared cache, restarted phone several time, shut down several apps, changed some message+ settings. Nothing worked to spolve messaging. cold only see and send messages if got in through contacts, and selected the message icon from there. Tols all my regular contact to use email for now. Didn't want to unistall message+ and end up losing all my text messages. Then, this morning (Friday Aug 2) it's working, just the usual occasional message-doesn't-go-through thing, but at least message weren't lost, and seems to be running fine. THere was no message or indication that anything had been updated no phone though. So, I assume it was not a phone or android related thing, but rather network related.....I'm gonna go backup my messages RIGHT NOW....

Verizon is currently experiencing an issue with the Verizon Messages App. Our technicians are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it quickly.
At this time please use the native Messaging app that came on the phone from the manufacturer. Please check for an app update of the Message+ app often.

Monkeysrfrendly, we know how important it is to be able to use Verizon Messages. Are you still having issues with Verizon Messages? Please keep me posted. KevinR_VZW
Hey, I have been unable to use the messages+ app on my tablet, (meaning the integrated messaging feature)but it's always fine on my phone.
I may have discovered something.. Both are samsung, and I've used them before. But when I download app onto tablet, it wont open, although it flashes before disappearing. I see the empty placeholder on recent apps, but same thing, flashes, then gone.
In my settings somewhere, where the option for an app to open in app?? , or supported apps or websites..cant remember, anyway, there is a site that says.. client.messaging.verizon. or something like that. IS THAT RELATED TO MY INABLITY TO OPEN APP ON TABLET TO USE INTEGRATED MESSAGING?
Please say yes!
