Note 8 - no auto restart function?

In settings / general management / reset there is no auto restart function (the ability to set an automatic, regular restart of the Note 8). It is my understanding that other carriers support this function but Verizon does not (because it's not there -- but it is a feature of the phone). Please Verizon, reconsider adding this function back in. I would think it would facilitate the optimized functionality with a regular restart like that (because we get busy -- we don't do it regularly). Certainly, I could set a reminder on the phone to do it, but if it's a feature of the Note 8, we should have it. Pretty please.

Considering I don't reboot my phone for at least two weeks apart, I haven't noticed any performance issues. I don't see why it is necessary to have a automatic reboot function.

Well, the option comes with the phone by default, so why is Verizon crippling the phone for no reason. I like the idea of doing it once a week automatically. We always have to deal with Verizon crippling phones in ways that other carriers do not...

A lot of testing goes into the device, and what settings work alongside our network and the software. This is the case with all providers. What concerns you with the current device reset/power cycle process?

Yes, we get that a lot of testing goes into the device. The point was that ALL other providers left the Auto Restart setting which comes native to Android 5.1x and newer devices in their equivalent devices with equivalent OS versions.

Verizon took this setting out, and it can be done manually, so there does not seem to be any logic associated with taking that setting out. I wished to not have to use 3rd party apps to automatically restart/shutdown my phone once a week. Since Verizon has crippled this functionality, I now have to do that.

It's annoying, and I know of no one on any forum regarding this matter who believes this is a needed restriction.

What does "need" have to do with anything?

Like any productivity technology, the benefits are when it is leveraged to decrease tasks, & increase productivity. The less we have to do manually the better. That is why Android put the feature in natively since version 5.1x, and it is still there in version 7.x which is what Note 8 comes with.

If you're asking "Why do you need...." about any technology you missed the point of technology wholly...

A more pertinent and relevant question would be "Why does Verizon need to take out native productivity features from Android OSs"?
