Verizon Messages "Add to Contacts" opens people with "Choose a contact"

In Verizon messages on my laptop, I select "Add to Contacts" for a text entry and it brings up People with "Choose a contact". It used to bring up People in the edit mode (Add a contact). Even when I hit the "+" at the bottom of the People screen it does nothing.

Don't know if it a People problem or Verizon Messages problem.

People runs fine if launched from windows and it allows me to Add a contact.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. It's a great place to get answers to questions. Sorry to hear that the programs aren't working the way they did previously. Do you know when the change first happened? Do you recall if either received a software update at that time?
