The magnet in my new holster causes havoc - resulting in some very strange behavior on the Droid X.
Maybe show a picture of the case you got (if you can find it on the internet) and post it here. I'm sure it'd be helpful to some people
It's because the Droid X uses a magnet to trigger the car and multimedia modes. The Droid was the same way with any case that had a magnetic closure

I always missed the shinyblack look and this case has jumped out at me
So I noticed mine does the same thing. I wonder if that could be what drains my bettery more on some days.
I have the standard leather case (with magnetic closure) for the Droid X from VZW.

Is there a better case to use that has a belt clip? I don't see any others for the Droid X on the VZW site. I really don't like this issue now that I have discovered it.
yeah, I'm not really sure how they can market the magnetic holsters for the Droid or Droid X. Maybe try using it with the screen facing out? Looks like they have a couple snap on cases that have belt clips but not any regular holsters.
