The data plan is mandatory for smart phones. Sorry.
I heard on the fox 59 new this morning that Verizon is doing away with there unlimited data plains, well my question is because I have the droid 2 and MUST have the 29.99 fee will that new rule effect me and my hubby who BOTH got our droids at the beging on Sept, if anyone know about this Please get back to me my daughter wants one and if no unlimted data for it she id not getting one.. thanks
If I'm not mistaken the current unlimited plan is actually limited to 5GB per month.
So if that is true and all they plan to do is change the wording, we really aren't going to miss anything.
At this time we have no information stating that we will be doing away with the unlimited data plan. If information comes available about this unlimited feature being removed we will be sure to pass it along.

Yes, you are mistaken. Data usage is unlimited. If you tether the device, then there are limits (e.g., 5 gig for USB and 2 gig for mobile hotspot).
Yes there is a data plan for 29.99.
