Where is the emergency call button? Verizon sent message that with D109 update I will have to unlock phone to use but I don't even know where it is?
It's only there if you have the screen lock enabled under Location & Security. It's for people who use a code or pattern to unlock their phone instead of the normal puzzle piece.

So they miss named it. That sounds like a screen lock function. To me an emergency call button is something you can hit to dial 911 without have to go the the dialer and type it in.
Below is what it looks like. If you hit it, it should take you to the dialer.
