Samsung Galaxy s9 battery draining after system update R16NW.G965USQS3ARG8

Brand new Samsung Galaxy S9+ updated to latest version last night. Now the battery is draining quickly. After only one hour with very little use and all apps sleeping, the battery dropped from 100% to 85%. Yesterday, before the update, it would have taken an hour of continuous use to get the battery to 85% that quickly.

Charging is no longer working right either. Usually I can put the phone on the wireless desktop charger and it would fast charge in at least an hour. Now it is an hour later and the battery is only at 97%.

The only thing that changed, THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED was the system update.

This needs to be corrected asap. I was happy with my new phone, and my new Verizon service until this morning.

If anyone can help beyond the lame troubleshooting you easily find on FAQ sites, I would appreciate it.

There can be many causes of excessive battery usage. Have you run a health check on the phone to see which apps are using battery and how much?

There were four apps running at .03% or less.

We would like you to go to Settings, tap Device maintenance, tap Storage, then tap Clean Now. Then fully power off the device for 30 seconds. Then power back on and test battery life.

Having the same problem. Not a item before the update. Phone has completely run out of battery power 3 times in the same day with no more use than normal. Unbelievable! I will try the suggestion but how about stopping the updates until you TEST THEM?

they do test 'em but not with every app you happen to be using.

after updates you need to check everything, i've had my ringtone changed a few times.

I'm pretty tech savvy. This isn't an app interfering with the phone. It's the phone update that changed something that's causing the hardware issues.
