What don't you like about the swype theme.... just that they changed the color?
But back to the update...... I LIKE it!!!!!
it downloaded and installed slicker than "snot on a doorknob".... (old midwestern term)
I think the key size is the same. They changed the color and maybe that's giving the illusion of different key size. I liked the old one better but I'm sure that's just because I was used to it. If the keys had been grey before and the changed to a darker key, I probably feel the same way now.
So far with what I've checked out, I very happy with 2.2!
Update installed flawlessly. Rebooted and all went flawlessly. Very happy.
Same here, actually the first few posts I made this morning were done on my Dx.
I've re-booted 4 times and each time, it re-booted fine. Phone "feels" snappier", ringtone volume seems a little louder, which should take care of my issue, and there's several cool things going on now.
Haha, the 2.2 update showed up on 9-22-2010. Very funny, Moto and Verizon. Very funny....
(I know, I know, it's version 2.3.)
It was indeed worth the wait.

It is not "version 2.3"...it's Android 2.2!!!!! AAAAH people learn to read!
The update killed my Droid X. I now have to locate a friggin Verizon store and complain. Very unhappy with Google.

In what way? Someone here might be able to help.
I have had my Droid X since the day after the release and I have had ZERO issues with this amazing phone. No screen freezes, no overheating, no volume problems, zero dropped calls, flawless wifi, etc.... I updated to 2.2 this morning and so far have had zero issues. It does seem a little faster and smoother as others have stated. This is truly an amazing smart phone!
+1 .... working well so far ... the Battery Heat issue seems to no longer be an issue for me ... It used to get very hot. Also the battery life seems to have improved .... Been stuck at 60% for 2.5 hours now .... not that I'm doing anything "stressful" with it yet. But looks better overall.
After install and two reboots, mine seems to be working well, for the most part. I have run into freezing errors during the loading of some of my apps, like Sticher. Overall I'm quite happy with it, as finally being able to view most Adobe Flash sites, including many of mine which are required for school. I'm just hoping that the loading glitches are due to app programmer problems, instead of OS problems.
I left to deliver Meals on Wheels, and checked to see if the update was out under settings and it was. I clicked on download, finsihed delivering meals and the phone was already updated withing a few minutes. Works like a champ and came wth a new driving game and Quick Office. I downloaded flash 10.1 on my own and everything is great. Noticed ther is a new screen dimming program and a program that turns off connections during certain hours when its not charging.
Yay. Got mine in less than two minutes. Only complaint is that the unlock key is ugleh.
Question - My volume key doesn't go from silent to vibrate to ring. I can set it to either vibrate or be silent in the settings menu, but is there an easier way of doing this? am I missing something?
Download and install was successful! So far, everything is working fine. I went to Market, and noticed now I can update ALL applications at once. I like this option.
Got it last night, easy upgrade. So far so good.
