Headphone Jack Issues

I've done some searching around about the issue I'm having with my current Droid X. When having headphones plugged in and take the phone on a run with me it will shut off my factor installed music player, as if it was paused. I have isolated the problem to the headphone jack when moving the cord around just a little. So my question is, does anyone know if Motorola has fixed this issue with the loose headphone jack on current phones? I've downloaded the free app as well shutting off the other functions that can be preformed with mic headsets and that does not fix the issue.

I know its not my headphones because they work just fine in anything else I plug them into.

I'm actually having the same exact issue, but it happens even when I'm not moving around. It's definitely an issue where the contacts on the inside of the headphone jack are losing connection because of the wiggle room.

I noticed that you posted this originally, did you ever find a resolution?

Two questions,,,,

1. Are you using headset with mic built into wire?

2. Is that a stock headset or a after market item?.

I am having a similar issue. While listening to FM Radio, it just stopped working. I can't even listen to Pandora. At first, I thought it was my headphones.

I've had the same issue, on 3 X's now. It's fine for a few months, and then whatever I'm listening to will stop playing as if I disconnected the headphones. This happens if there is any movement on or around the plugged in headphones. A soft breeze will easily send some signal to the software that the headphone's have been disconnected. I've used the application CatLog to see the system calls that occur when the jack is in a bad mood. This happens with any 3.5 mm cord, be it headphones or connected to an AUX port.

I will repeat, this has just started to happen on my third Droid X. I am going to call soon and will probably get another refurbished replacement phone that will last for a couple months. I just don't know what's gonna happen after my warranty is up...

same issue here, but with a first generation Droid. It's been happening since I first had the phone, but stupidly I never took it in before the warranty expired It's definitely a hardware or software issue, it happens with all kinds of different cords, so I know it's not the cord.

since when should it be an issue for motorola, they don't make any guarantee the phone will work in all environments covering everything you/other users do.

i've pressed my old voyager into a music platform at the gym and it comes & goes as i'm working out with the headset jack.

What an absolutely ridiculous reply... since when is the manufacturer of a product not responsible for it working as advertised?

If it's a software issue, that's one thing, but I seriously doubt it is since this appears to be limited to Motorola Android phones. If you put a port on your hardware, shouldn't that port consistently work in the situations it's intended for?? It's not like I'm trying to use the headphone jack to plugin my electric guitar or hook up a usb hub. It's a headphone jack, headphones should play sound when I plug them in to it!
