I am not going to complain about the 2.2 update and lack of information or even the lies provided by Vzw when they are contacted. However I am going to recommend that Verizon could and should make a better effort to keep their customers informed. It is very frustrating to read all of the different things people are saying about the 2.2 update and even more frustrating to contact Vzw and get a different answer on the subject by each person that you talk to! So here is a simple solution that I think would make for happier customers and probably just as happy customer service reps.
Here it is: How about just sending out a text to all Droid owner's as well as owner's of any other phones that may be getting the update that goes a little like this: VZW and Motorola are pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated Android 2.2 operating system. The OTA updates are going to start being sent on ( such and such a date) and are expected to wrap up by the week of(fill in the date) The sequence in which the OTA updates are sent are in no random order. We will keep all Droid owner's informed of any delays in the process. We appreciate your patience and business. Sincerely, VZW in partnership with Motorola and Google
Would that be so **bleep** difficult to do? They have no problem sending a text message if your bill is overdue do they?
Oh and by the way I understand that they are under no obligation to something like that but wouldn't it make things a lil easier for everyone?????????????
