Is the Droid X the right phone for me, if these are the things I want to do with it, in this order?

Here is what I want to do with a smartphone, in this order:

1) Make and receive phone calls (we don't have a home phone and we have some little kids, so the phone ALWAYS working for calls is very important)

2) Reading and sending personal email (Gmail)

3) Browsing the internet (will have wi-fi connected when at home)

4) Sending and receiving text messages

5) Directions/GPS while driving

6) Taking pictures

7) Playing games

8) Listening to music (I will probably keep using my iPod Touch as my primary music player in the car because I don't want to always be taking my smartphone on and off of car chargers, USB chargers, etc.; I have kind of ruined the life of my iPod battery by doing that anyway)

1 - With the Verizon network, you will be hard pressed to not have a signal. My Droid actually has better reception in my house than any other phone that I have had with Verizon. (Moto E815, Razr2, LG env Touch)

2 - This has worked very well in my testing.. I personally do not use gmail as for my personal email, but have tested sending/receiving emails through gmail.

3 - Browsing through 3g or wifi works wonderfully.

4 - Text messaging works very well.

5 - The GPS function works very well. I purchased the car dock with my Droid, and it is easy to use with the dock (always charge it in the dock since I drive an hour one way to work). There is a small glitch with the Navigation program going to the background once in a while, but it is an intermittent problem and easy to bring it back to the front.

6 - Taking pictures is easy... Taking videos is just as easy. Just remember that press the camera button 1/2 way to focus, then press it farther to take the picture.

7 - Playing games is fun on this screen. There are some crap games out there, but there are some really good ones.

8 - Listening to music works very well. The standard 3.5mm plug for headphones is nice.

My Droid has replaced my Zune, my Dell Pocket PC, and removed my need for a GPS system... it handles it all

1) The Droid X has the best call quality and signal of any phone I have owned. In comparisons the call quality has easily beaten HTC Evo, Incredible and the Iphone 4g.

2) The Email function is great. You get notified of new emails just as you would a text message, you can read and respond in the same fashion.

3) The 3G internet is lightening fast, and the landscape browsing is just awesome.

4) With Swype text messages are amazingly easy. You can even customize the settings for swype in the keyboard settings menu.

5) GPS is lightening quick and accurate

6) Best picture taking device I've seen. Some comparisons compare the camera to the Iphone 4 via the on screen image but when an emailed picture is compared to each other the Droid X picture quality is clearly the best.
