Mifi 2200 - turning off - press button twice?

In general my Mifi works pretty good (the light gets red something like 1 minutes before it dies but thats ok)...

but when i want to turn it off- I press and hold the button for a few seconds and it turns off only to turn immediately back on.  I then press and hold the button the same length of time and it turns off-- is this normal?

Mine does the same exact thing. I'm guessing it's normal.
