Can I still use a Samsung Convoy? I just need a temporary phone for basic calls and texts. Can I transfer my number over and use it still?

I have a Samsung Convoy 2. For the last few days when I call someone I'm getting a Leaving service area. Then it will say return to service area. What is going on. This just started.
