I have a question?????

Currently I am a customer of sprint and i have a dx on order when the dx comes in if it ever comes in wen i activate the new phone my sprint contract will cancel and i will be a new verizon customer. Im not even a verizon customer yet and i already have been lied to twice and cant even get a straight answer from any CS.

So my question is if i never activate the new phone and send it back does this mean my contract will never start with verizon and i can stay with sprint.????????????????????????

You haven't been lied to. You have been mis-informed by a mis-informed CSR. If you stepped on a cockroach, would it be correct to call you a muderer? Of course not.

Unfortunately, the CSRs can tell you only the info they have been given by whatever gnomes at Verizon are handling the ordering system. When they get a bunch of phones in from Motorola, they have some goofy method of determining who's order will be fulfilled. You would think that it would be first come, first served, but it hasn't always worked out that. So stop shooting the messengers. Obviously, you've never ordered an iPhone (I have, once, never again), or you would know the oh-so-true meaning of "screwed up order". And to boot, YOU try manufacturing something that several million people are clamoring for. "Oh, but I'd make sure that I was ready to handle that many orders!!" Yeah, right. And you'e selling bridges by the dozen, too, I'll bet.

You aren't waiting for a cure for cancer or an insurance check. You are waiting on a simply, lowly phone. Now. in the grand scheme of telephones, it is quite a phone, but it's not such a big deal.

And if you had read the forum a little closer, you would have seen that a lot of people that received their Droid Xs have stated vociferously that it was well worth the wait. So do you REALLY want to miss out on that experience? Not to mention that you'd keep tolerating the mobile phone trainwreck that everyone calls Sprint? You gotta be kidding, No, really, right?

Just be patient, it will arrive. And you agree, as all the masses have, that the phone is worth the wait.

If you are porting your phone number from Sprint over to Verizon, your contract will Sprint should cancel automatically. If you are not porting your number over, but getting a new number, then YOU must cancel your contract with Sprint. If you decide not to take delivery on the phone, or send the phone back without activation, then your contract with Sprint should still stand.

Verizon Customer Service is only as good as the information in from of them, and the integrity of the Customer Service Rep. If you get a rep that doesn't care about the customer, you will get bad information. Also, the call center is getting thousands of calls an day, so they could be a little stressed out, and may misread a screen or two. It happens.

Personally, I have not had any trouble with Verizon Customer Service. I used to have Nextel, and after Sprint bought them (yes I know the story is the two companies merged, but in reality Sprint bought Nextel out. Where is the Nextel name now?), I had their customer service lie to me more than once. That is why I left Sprint/Nextel years ago.

What until you get the Droid. You will love the phone. If you want to stay with Sprint, then tell Verizon CS to cancel your order, but good luck trying to order the EVO 4. That has been back-ordered forever and I heard that you couldn't order it for a while because they didn't have a clue when they were getting more in.

Everyone who's ordered the Droid X since late July has been on a backorder situation and has had to wait for the phone, me included. I will reiterate what others have said in the past (me included) on other posts: it is well worth the wait. I hated waiting for it, but I'm so glad I did. Be patient ... I know it's hard, BELIEVE me I do. But it's a highly popular phone and Motorola is working as fast as they can to keep up with the demand. A lot of iPhone customers are defecting and coming over, too. So, it's wildly popular!

My advice to you: you knew the 'ship date' when you ordered your phone. Don't call CS. They really have no further information regarding your order than you already know and that you are waiting for it to be shipped out. Once your phone is shipped out, you will receive the FedEx tracking number and you can start to stalk FedEx online for your phone.

Only if your ship date has passed without receiving an e-mail with your FedEx tracking number, would I call CS and try to get your situation resolved. You are not being lied to ... CS people really do not have any more information to share with you and are often times mis-informed.
