DX battery temps...down by the speaker/lower mic

Sometimes, my feels pretty smokin' down near the speaker...which is a little far from where the battery connects and exists.

So why the hot spot there?

Anyone else feelin' it?

And just in case...My DX runs awesome, no issues...wi-fi, GPS and everything running tip-top shape. No task-killer either. Let you DX's OS do it's job. Battery life is great too. Verzon Custormer Service has been nothing but the most truthful and helpful customer service ever. Not kidding.

Do you notice the hotness after any particular activity? Like after/during a long phone conversation, lots of other "CPU" activity that is draining the battery? That area is probably where the CPU and the guts of the phone are ... just a thought. Mine gets a little warm during heavy use - or running GPS for a long time, etc. But my other phone (DARE) did as well during a long chit-chat session.

Oh yea, it's definitely during and after longer periods of use...and weirdly after its been in my pocket (upside down & screen locked) it seems. Odd.

If you let it sit...it cools off. Even charging it doesn't get that warm. Again...not an issue...more of an observation. Looking for others who might know where the source really is. And why?

Yes it does get warm when you use the 3g radio a lot, web surfing, internet radio, Google navigationd, watching TV shows, etc, but mine has never gotten so hot I couldn't touch it.

I have a good Droid X too. Only two things I have a slight problem with is Google Navigation deciding to go into the background on its own (easy to get back to the foreground) and my battery life is less than 1 day, but my Droid has replaced my Zune (mp3 player), my pocketpc (games, pocket checkbook, etc) and I also use it to listen to internet radio during work too. That is a lot of battery power in use all day long, so I do not have a problem to have it hooked up to power at work for part of the day. I just understand that it will not last as long as my regular cell phone because it does so much more than my regular cell phone.

Yeah. My DX replaced my Zune for music...now occupies 8gb+ and I have a Zune 120 and now it's strictly movies - both in car and I can go to a TV with an RCA cable.

I am trying to nail down what might make it go beserk cause sometimes I feel like it's just getting hot for no reason..and heat kills the battery life. Which the two are directly proportional...more use, obviously more heat...but when I'msometimes not doing something on the phone, but the phone is doing something on it's own and making heat...it worries me. I'll pick it up and wonder where the battery went. I trust the android OS is doing what it's supposed to but by self managing the apps, it feels exessive when its costing me extra battery life. I complete agree that in order to have a smooth running phone some/most apps need to be left alone to do what they need, but where is the balance?

Not to complain, but I've gone almost completely manual for my retrieval...my widgets are to a minimum and stil if you go into the app manager and see what the phone is running, there are things that are useless. For instance, I don't run backup manager...not ever hooked up...why does it feel the need? Skype? Not unless I turn it on. That is the only thing I don't understand...
