I have a Galaxy S8 plus, running the latest os update.
This happens with the Verizon messages app. I have a Samsung gear 3 frontier watch as well. Not sure if that affects it.

What settings? I don't have pop up messages so it's not set to mark as read

This was all explained in the previous thread. Idk why it was closed.
This only happens with Verizon messages +. Messages / notifications vanish from the pull down and the messages plus app shows 1 (or however many new texts I have) then disappears and doesn't show anything on home screen or pull down notifications. Only way I realize I got new texts is by going into the app or if I heard the text come in.
