I can't get to my messages. I can only move the ball side to side, or up. Tried taking the battery out, any other ideas? has happened before but the battery trick has always worked.

Trackball problems are one of the biggest headaches for those devices that still have them, such as the Tour. For a fix, turn your device off. Then, place it on a hard surface such as a table. Now, press down on the trackball while at the same time moving the trackball in different directions, ie, up, down, side-to-side. Then, power back on and see if it works a little better for you.
