How can I move or install apps to my SD Card on Samsung A01

Just purchased a Samsung A01 from Verizon. The preloaded apps take up 15.7GB of the 16.0GB Storage. This ridiculous fact not withstanding; I inserted an SD Card and was able to move a small amount of media files from internal storage to the SD Card. However, all attempts at either moving currently installed apps or installing new apps to the SD Card have failed. I have read much on the subject online and for most users, an option of "move to SD Card?" appears on each app's storage section. I have already changed the developers option to "force allow installation of apps to secondary storage", yet the ability still eludes me.

PLEASE HELP. To purchase a new phone that has 0.3GB of storage available seems like a sick joke.

If you read the last post here that phone can't do what you want. 16gb of storage is so little and some get taken up by phone stuff to begin with. I usually make sure to get at least 64gb of internal storage. Just got the samsung note 10 plus with 256gb of internal storage a few months ago and love it. I use a lot of apps and haven't come close to running out of room. Also some apps can't be moved to memory card. Might depend on the app developer. I heard they don't run as good from memory card. On my phone when I go to apps and select one then select storage some of my apps have this option so maybe depends on phone model too.

To ensure we're on the same page, which applications are failing when attempting to move them to the MicroSD card? Was your device restored from a prior backup from another phone? What type of MicroSD card do you currently have installed in your device?

It doesn't sound like they are failing, sounds like the option to move is not there. Not all apps can be moved and in searching I came upon a post over at samsung with someone asking this and someone confirmed this phone does not have that feature as they called samsung directly and a customer service representative confirmed it.

I bought my son the samsung A51 for Christmas. That phone has 128gb of internal storage and decent. He can move apps to the SD card so for $50 more you get more storage and a better phone. My 28yr old son is not into phones like me so that suits him fine. It amazes me though with only 16gb of storage you can't move apps.

None of the apps can be moved to SD card.
As related above, the phone has no option to move to SD card, which is a first for me.
Yes, most apps were restored from a Google backup.
The SD card is a Samsung: EVO Select 128GB microSDXC UHS-I U3 100MB/s Full HD & 4K UHD Memory Card

I would suggest next time buying a phone research first the features that are important to you so you can be sure it does what you need. To me it's stupid a phone with only 16gb internal storage would not do this. Who knows what samsung was thinking but I saw others complaining about this on that phone. If you just got it maybe you can exchange it.

Yes, I was foolish to not seek out the details. I mean, if the phone only has 16gb, I assumed memory could be added.

You would think a "reputable " company like Verizon would rectify the situation. Would they allow there to a be perception that a customer might be duped? Or that they don't disclose that one of their products is virtually useless to all but a rare non-app using segment of the populace.

I guess I'm old fashioned in thinking a retailer wants to do right by their customers.

It is always important to be able to be able to manage your storage, we'll be glad to clarify this for you. In this case, certain apps can't be moved to an SD card. This is up to the developer if this is an option or not.
