Clearing Browser searches, cache, etc

I have tried to clear the searches, cache, history, etc. but I am having no joy. I have been going into the Browser settings to do this. It appears to accept the request but I can still move the Browser backwards and find the same history, etc. And when I go back into Settings, the changes I made have been reset.

What's the secret?

close your browser and reopen it. close all the open windows.

if go to setting > applications > manage applications it lists all the apps on your phone...if you click on the brower u will see the clear cache button...click and clear... (you can also clear all the settings)

I think this worked. <g> I did what you suggested, but I also shut down the phone completely afterwards, which I hadn't done before. Either way, I believe the history and cache are gone! (I think)

browser isn't listed in my apps.

The manage applications view usually defaults to the "downloaded" list.

Settings > applications > manage applications > all tab

This ^^^ will list all of your applications.

Browser might be listed as Internet in some devices.
