Set up a GMail account on my Droid X but it won't send any emails including picture mail.... anyone else have this problem? or know why this is happening?

Make sure it is SYNC

tried that but doesn't seem to work... is there some settings I should set up on the gmail website? I've never used gmail.. only set it up to download apps from android market place...
According to my Droid X... sync is down... so will see what happens later this week.
