Fraudulent Nokia 2720 V Flipphone

This phone will not work with any other carrier without an SPEHPLMN code and Verizon doesn't know it. Nokia too will refer you to Verizon to resolve.

So now..

- I paid Verizon in full for a device I can't use,

- paid our former carrier to port because numerous agents and techs confirmed the phone was unlocked

- paying monthly for our new carrier without a phone until I buy a new one

- and put through weeks without access to my business number because Verizon kept opening up support requests which no new agent refers back to.

When I asked for a refund, I was told they could not.

Nothing against the agents or techs, but disappointed with Verizon that I can no longer recommend them.

I have had exactly the same problem. I can't recommend this phone or Verizon either.

I spent hours trying to figure it out. No one at Verizon had any idea what this code was and Nokia would only say Verizon had the code.

I apologize you are having this type of experience with the device. Looking through all of the details in the system and can not find any details on a Spehplmn code. I would recommend attempting to reach out to Nokia for any other options.

This literally is exactly what the OP said. "I don't know, ask Nokia".

On the line with Verizon now trying to figure this out, and tech support has no clue either.

This is pretty insane, spent money on this phone, Verizon ditched their $5 plan, and now I'm stuck paying more per month than the phone is worth if I want to use Verizon.

This doesn't work. Nokia told me that this phone can only be used with Verizon, but Verizon seems to think it can be used with other carriers. Here are things I've already gone through.

The device is unlocked (according to Verizon)
ATT (the other SIM I was trying to use) doesn't know the code
Turning the device on/off again

However, a Verizon rep keep telling me to turn the device on and off again.

Me: I've already turned off my phone several times swapping out SIM cards.
Verizon: No I just did something on your account so it should work.
Me: I don't think it will. What did you do?
Verizon: [vague answer]
Me: *tries it anyway*
Problem: *remains*

Like others said, this looks bad on Verizon's part. I was hoping they figured this problem out after it was called to their attention several months ago. Will be using other carriers that don't have draconian device restrictions.

I’ve got the same problem, I’ve been on the phone with Verizon for hours and at the store for hours and they say they don’t know what that code is. It’s terrible, cause my 87 year old mom has been without a phone since she switched to her new carrier with this phone. A Verizon employee gave me the transfer pin before the sixty days was up , since it was a new phone and Verizon wouldn’t refund her money cause it was 1 week after the 30 days. Can’t wait till my phone is paid off and I will be leaving Verizon. They will not warn anyone that you can’t transfer a phone you by from them
