+593 added to contact phone number

one of my phone contacts no longer has their name appear when texting and when I try to add the person back to contacts, their phone number has a +593 added as a prefix. I correct it and save, but it keeps adding the +593 back. so the phone does find a contact name with that incorrect phone number

Which text messaging application are you using when this issue happens? Also, have you attempted to fully remove the contact number and re-add it to your phone?
