Text Messages Changed After International Travel

The following happened:

1. Travelled outside the US with wife

2. Texted with my wife on our trip out of the country.

3. Texts during this time had the foreign country code prefix. We were using TravelPass. Our pre-trip texts still had our US area code.

4. When we returned, ALL texts with wife now have the foreign country code prefix. Post trip texts now have our US area code.

Any ideas how to fix this? Besides the pre-trip texts have the wrong number, my phone acts like there are two phone numbers.
