Texts not received until phone restarted

Currently have an issue where my Galaxy A51 will randomly stop receiving text messages. Outgoing texts work fine. When I restart the phone all the texts will come in. This started about a week ago and has happened several times in the last few days. I think the issue is when the phone looses cell service. That seems to start the no texts received scenario and it continues until the phone is restarted.

I depend on my text messages every day and would be concerned too if I were having any problems! How often are you losing cellular service? What is the signal showing on your device?

Same issue, ease of Pittsburgh, PA. Both my phone, and my wife's phone. (both S22 Ultra)
Also could not make calls, until reboot, then all of the txts we missed come in. First noticed this on 9/20 I believe, and in different locations, not WiFi related either. Was in my car the first time I noticed.

This blows my mind that verizon isn't taking this seriously. It has been well over a week and no software update / fix from verizon. I imagine there is some serious damage being done here, delays of a day on text messages is causing hard both personally and job / business wise. when people think you are ignoring them it causes some lovely drama.

Having the same problems for days. This is ridiculous. I'm losing customers! No customers = no money = not paying for this phone that doesn't work.

Texting has become more important than ever, Pioneer4x4. We understand the seriousness of this issue. Our tech team is aware of this growing concern, and we are working with Samsung to correct this issue in the next software update. The software is being tested to ensure it corrects the issue, but we do not know when the software will be released.

Please try it and keep us posted. Alternately, a new software update created by the manufacturer will resolve the issue when a new update is available from the manufacturer.

Having the same problem. Chesapeake Virginia. I now have to reboot phone constantly. Went into work only to find out they were closed for the weather. Didn't get the text until I rebooted phone. Am not getting verification codes until rebooting phone. Didn't get texts from my kids until I rebooted phone. Very upset

Same problem in Ohio. Randomly happens and I don't know that they stop. After restarting messages start flowing again. Sometimes don't realize it until a couple of hours later. Clients think I am ignoring them as well. Samsung S22 only 30 days old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue, randomly everything stops working and I get no texts, no calls, no missed call notifications, no voicemail notifications, nothing. I don't even know it happens because I can still make calls and send messages and all other apps and everything seem to function fine. It looks as if verizon has been aware of this for weeks and have still not fixed it? WHAT THE H3LL IS GOING ON, I run multiple businesses and when customers and employees can't reach me it cost me money... We better be getting refunded for the entire duration of this issue.

Same issue in our household and a friends household in hanover, pa area. This has been going on quite awhile and we are missing business and personal texts that are very important. Have to restart our phones multiple times a day to get messages and then our phone blows up worth all these missed messages. It's getting ridiculous.

Help, my phone stops sending and receiving texts randomly. I have missed work texts for two days until I restarted my phone and then they all come in at once. I really need to know that my texts are being sent.

Also, I have a seriously ill spouse. I need to be able to communicate updates to my family members and receive their responses.

Same here. Restart and or turning off wifi required most times for texts to come through. Interesting, validation code from Verizon does NOT have this issue?????

I am having the same issue. Galaxy S22 Ultra. Very frustrating with numerous sites using texting to verify account with 2-factor. I think this happened after the last update.

I have this same issue. In Massachusetts (north Attleboro), iPhone 13 Pro.
I won’t notice until my texts say “not delivered”. Then when I restart they will come & go through. Now, I have also learned that people will call me and it won’t go through; those calls never show up later. Essentially, I am getting calls I am never aware of, which I have tested and it’s true. This is insanity. I am going to AT&T today or tomorrow to switch service.

…Side note - I looked on Verizon’s coverage map and where my house is (where I have majority of issues) there isn’t 5G or great service in this specific location. However, my phone will show as having good service often when this happens. Not sure what this is about but I’ve narrowed it to a carrier issue, now my only definitive solution is to leave this carrier.

I have had this problem since the October update. I must restart the phone daily or it stops receiving texts (outgoing seem to work) and won't make or receive phone calls. Data services are not interrupted. Bluetooth works fine. I'm using the default phone app on my S22+ and the Google messages app. (I have the same problem if I switch to the Verizon messages app, though, so it's not app related.)

I'm a loyal Verizon customer. 20+ years without switching networks. I've been patient while you try to figure out what's going on, but this problem is causing real trouble. Please make this a high priority!

I had this problem for months! Drove me crazy. The fix for me was to turn off Wi-Fi calling. The problem seems to stem from when the phone goes from a Wi-Fi network to the Verizon network. It sometimes doesn't fully connect to Verizon until you restart the phone.

Settings => Connections => Wi-Fi Calling

Turn it off!

May 2023 and this is happening for me too in spite of the "updates" that Verizon says were supposed to take care of it. Verizon this it TOTALLY unacceptable. FIX IT !

I just upgrade from S10 to S24+ and am having this issue - I don't appreciate having to restart my phone every morning. I don't know when I stop getting texts/calls. And am concerned, I have two kids out of state in college and I want them to be able to reach if they need to 24/7.

I see most of these messages are from 2022. It is 2024 - is there a solution that doesn't involve a factory restart?

The fix for me was to turn off Wi-Fi calling. The problem seems to stem from when the phone goes from a Wi-Fi network to the Verizon network. It sometimes doesn't fully connect to Verizon until you restart the phone. Turn off Wi-Fi calling. It won't affect your ability to connect to Wi-Fi for data.
