Droid 2 data plan?

Its our first month in our contract with 1400 minutes talk and text family plan with 150 mb plan for my droid 2. however, when i check my data usage on the website it says (how ever much mb used) out of unlimited. why does it say unlimited if i have a 150 mb plan? do i have unlimited data usage for the first month?

im not 100% sure but i believe with android phones you have to pay the $39 for the data plan or you cannot use your phone since it is basically a miniature computer you need the internet and it is unlimited. when i bought my phone back in spetember this was my understanding of it.
