Setting Up Email Problems with Pop 3 Server and new Droid X! Help!

Hi Community,

I just purchased a Droid X and am having problems trying to set up my work email so I recieve it on the Droid x. I have looked at several tutorials online and followed instructions. I can send an email, but cannot recieve. I suspect the problem is that our incoming server is POP 3. However, there are only options for POP and IMAP, not POP 3 on the droid X... Can anyone help me with how to resolve this? I really appreciate it and am very frustrated after hours of trying to figure it out.

Did you check the push and/or poll settings? I initially had problems setting up my non-gmail home email. Now I use "K9" and it's working fairly well.

Go to @Email, Then click on Info, Email Settings, then Email Delivery. Check Data Push and set up Fetch Schidule. Also you can set it to only Sync over Wi-Fi which I do not have checked. You can have several accounts here set up under this @Email application. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply :smileyhappy: You will have to forgive my ignorance here as this probably is a dumb question, but is @email an application I can download, or is it in the Droid X and I'm just not seeing it? I really appreciate your time and help. I've looked through settings, etc... There has to be a way to get my work email going here. That's huge for me. I'm not familiar with push/poll, so I might need baby steps here. Thank you again!

I believe that @email is an apps. However, to answer your questions, POP and POP3 are the same thing, no problem there. The problem, and this is usually the case, is that you have the incorrect port numbers. Go to the Motorola site and in the search bar type "POP Account Settings." This chart is invaluable. It gives you the incoming and outgoing servers and port numbers. It also will tell you what security/verification questions to check off. This chart should be pasted on the top of this site.
