I think that a warning should be posted on the forums to warn people to be very careful when they receive advice from other forum members. Before making changes to their computers,or doing a system restore, forum members should do a little investigating. For sure, we have no way of knowing if this advice could harm our computers. I find that most of the time if one sees many other people with the same problem, it may be a Verizon software problem and if they report it to Verizon and allow time for a fix they will avoid greater problems.

This is already covered in the Community Terms of Service under the heading of "Appropriate Conduct" that members had to agree to when registering for the commmunity:

"Users of the Verizon Community agree that Verizon is not responsible
for the accuracy of the content of the Verizon Community and will not

Just wondering if you could provide examples of the bad advice. Not to point fingers, but I think we are all able to take a little constructive criticism. I am a member and try to do the best when attempting to help. But I will admit some of my ideas may be just plain wrong. Can you povide a link to any of the posts or threads?

And yes this is a peer to peer support group so Verizon is not responsible. Just like if you take your computer to the shop, most policies state they are not responsible for your data. A system restore usually means you will lose all your data. Restore to default. Like on many computers there is an option that will take the PC back to the way it came out of the box, also contain warnings that data will be lost. HP is like this and Dell was doing it but I am not sure if they still do. Dell if I remember makes it a little more difficult, and HP may give you the option to press a function key on boot.

So yes be careful.
