Best way to get ring tones and where is my micro SD card?

I was told I could use my SD card from my other phone in my new cosmos LG. I can't find the card or the files after I've put the memory card in. Also is it easier to download ring tones and wallpaper off the internet and then put on my phone or directly off my phone and onto my phone. Thank for any help...
