Android 2.2 official release time?

Ok I know it is happening beginning this week, sometime between the 3rd and the 6th, that froyo will becoming to the D1 OTA. My concern is will the update be sent out in groups? Like certain timeliness, or will it be sent all at once? Also will the upgrade be sent out at 12:01am or something closer to noon so that they can handle any support calls that may occur due to the update?

 

Also do you think they may release some premptive updates tonight to use as a test group for this weeks impending release? I am assuming that since its past 5pm that this is unlikely.

I'm not aware of VZW releasing that level of detail about the schedule.

During the 2.1 update the did something like 10,000 the first day, followed by something like 100,000 per day until they were done. I don't know of any reason not to expect something similar with the 2.2 release.

I don't have any info on what criteria are used to select which devices get the update when.
